Aequus Developments Ltd (ADL) has signed a partnership deal with Gregory’s Estate Agents to bring new and existing rental homes to market in Bath City Centre.

The two-year deal, signed by Aequus’ Chair Charles Gerrish and Gregory’s founder, Matt Gregory will see Gregory’s take over the tenancy management of 33 existing homes. Gregory’s will also support Aequus with their future pipeline of properties that will be refurbished and marketed for rent over the next few years. These homes will be available to rent through Gregory’s Estate Agents and include 1 and 2 bed-room apartments in some of the city’s historic Georgian buildings.

Aequus Developments Limited was established by Bath & North East Somerset Council in 2016 to develop, deliver, own and manage the local authority’s private residential property. ADL is committed to providing good quality refurbished homes in the city centre for young professionals and city workers and to acting as a responsible landlord.

Aequus’ chair Charles Gerrish said: I am pleased that following an open competitive tender process, we have been able to appoint a local business to work with to help us deliver our objectives of good quality homes for rent”.

Gregory’s is a family run, independent estate agent, established in 2015 by Matt Gregory. Commenting on the partnership, Matt Gregory said: “Gregory’s has seen continued success and growth during the last four years and we are thrilled to have now been selected by ADL to work alongside them in this exciting project, bringing quality properties to the Bath & North East Somerset rental market and allowing tenants the opportunity to live in such wonderful surroundings”.

Aequus is also building new homes for sale and rent with over 100 homes in the pipeline at two schemes at Riverside View in Keynsham and Sladebrook Road in Bath. Aequus was recently shortlisted for the Developer of the Year in the Bath Property Awards for its Riverside View development.
Charles Gerrish added: “Aequus seeks to address the need for reasonably priced new homes in the area by bringing forward development on brownfield sites and refurbishing city centre properties. Recognising Bath & North East Somerset Council’s adoption of the climate emergency policy earlier this year, we are proud that we can achieve a high level of sustainability while ensuring prices remain competitive for the local market.

As a new company, it is great that our approach is being recognised and I am pleased that Aequus has been shortlisted in three categories of the Bath Property Awards”.
